Parts is Parts

Just a quick update today. With the frame out of here, I've got to get all the ancillary suspension parts ready to reinstall when it comes back. I still have a handful of parts in bags and boxes waiting to be blasted and powder coated, so I got started on those. Most of them are brackets for the Panhard rod and brake parts. I ordered some Argent silver powder from Eastwood yesterday for the brake backing plates. The plates are supposed to be cadmium plated (and there is still a good layer of plating on the back of my brake plates), but with my mixed success with my home plating kit, I don't really trust it on big parts like this. Hopefully the silver will look like cad plating, especially if I don't use clear on it. If not, well, I'll have to come up with something else.

Miscellaneous parts waiting to be powder coated or welded back
into the trunk (trough in upper left).

Rear brake backing plates.

I'm working on the rear coil springs, but they're extremely tough to blast. The crud comes off easily enough, but getting all sides of the coil is tough. The springs will probably take another day or two. I'm also thinking that I need another light in the blast cabinet since I'm having a hard time seeing all the sides.
