Bob Gouveia from Massachusetts sent me these photos of his 1966 Divco milk truck with an explanation that the green paint on my Buick's inner fenders could be the same primer found under his truck. That seems likely, especially since my Buick has been repainted several times in the past. I really like the way these old trucks look, kind of like an overgrown Chrysler Airflow.

And to date myself, I clearly remember having a milk man who delivered milk to us in a vehicle like this as late as the mid-1970s. He'd drop a big block of ice inside a metal box by our back door and put two or three glass bottles of milk inside with it. I kind of miss that...

My good friend Rex StubbsI sponsor Matt's 1941 Buick Project! from down under in Australia E-mailed me recently and scolded me for not including his 1939 Buick Special 4-door (Model 8/40 with a Holden body--note the right-hand drive!) here in the Reader's Rides section. And I'm embarrassed that I didn't add his beautiful car sooner, especially since he was one of my earliest readers. I'm sorry, Rex!

I absolutely love the interior in Rex's car and his is the inspiration for me to use red leather in my Century. The workmanship in his car is absolutely first-rate. Rex is also the webmaster for the Buick Car Club of Australia and has his own web page documenting the restoration of this beautiful car!

How's that, Rex? Happy motoring!

Doug Ladwig has supplied many of the incredible NOS parts I've found for my restoration and has been a great source of information for my restoration. His stash of original Buick parts never ceases to amaze me. He recently sent me a few photos of his wife's recently acquired 1937 Buick Special sedan, seen here dressed for a wedding. Doug says, "We got to put about 100 miles on it before it got put away for the winter. Now I have to resolve all the little "new car issues" that I found during that 100 miles. Nothing serious so I should have it working well by warm weather."
